Project Specialist (Tier 3)

Job Description

The Technical Alignment Specialist is a unique role on the Keeran Networks service team. While the majority of our staff are dedicated to handling reactive situations, the TAS is focused almost entirely on performing proactive work. 

The TAS works in client networks to document procedures specific to that client, to align them to our technical standards, and to perform regularly scheduled proactive tasks. The TAS may also assist with the other service delivery areas by handling help desk tickets and escalations, or by performing project work as required.
 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge of each client’s environment 
  • Develop a library of technical standards, which clearly document the “Keeran Networks way” of implementing Active Directory, Group Policy, Office 365, etc 
  • Audit clients against technical standards to identify and remediate deficiencies 
  • Work with our Account Manager to identify required projects in client environments and propose them 
  • Track “tickets per endpoint” and “hours per endpoint” for each client on a monthly basis, and work to reduce these numbers by identifying root causes and looking for long term solutions 
  • Identify technical risk in client networks 
  • Regular, pre-scheduled visits to client sites 
  • During regular visits to client sites, assist with on site tickets as required 
  • Develop and maintain technical relationships with our clients 
  • All members of the technical team have an obligation to create and update our internal documentation, but the Technical Alignment Specialist has ultimate responsibility and accountability for documentation 
  • Ownership of each client’s ISP (internet & phone) connection. Work with the account manager as required to negotiate contracts on behalf of the clients. 
  • Perform regular proactive service on client network environments 
  • Assist with Help Desk tickets, escalations and projects as required 


Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant IT education (certificate/diploma/degree) or equivalent experience 
  • Experience working in an IT role with mixed server, desktop and network exposure 
  • Experience drafting technical documents including proposals, knowledgebase articles and project plans
